SKYs Keep it Country TV presenter, Nicole Silva, developed a passion for country music as a young girl listening to the BBC Essex Country Show with her grandparents.
“Singing is something I have always been very passionate about as a kid I would sing along to Tammy Wynette and Dolly Parton with my hairbrush as a microphone,” says Nicole.
Her passion for music burned on. But Nicole’s performing passion doesn’t end there; Nicole is also a trained dancer and actress.
She had a stroke of luck when she landed the role of Tammy in the film Rise of the Foot Solider II, a story based on the Rettingdon murders in 1995. The film also scooped up an award for Best British Film at the National Film Awards in 2015.
In October of 2016, Nicole was snapped up by Europe’s only dedicated country music show to co-present on the channel. Along with country legend, Phil Mack, the show attracts more than 10 million regular viewers.
When the show’s producers asked Nicole if she’d like to sing on the show, she knew the time had come to really follow her dreams. She of course said, Yes! In the process, she proved to her little girl that no matter what life throws at you, dreams really can come if you work hard enough.
This rising country star has also launched her own, independent record label – SILVA PENNY RECORDS, which she will be releasing her own material through. She hopes to sign a few new artists towards the end of the year.
Nicole’s debut single No Need was written by Danish lyrist Nanna Larsen. Nicole is also working with a pool of talented writers from around the world.
The song was recorded in Wave Break Studio in Walton on the Naze and the video will be filmed on Clacton seafront and pier.
No Need will be released on the 31st of March and is available for download via itunes, spotify and all the major online stores.
